Our last excursion was to the absolutely surreal Cocora Valley just outside of Salento. It is known for the one hundred year old wax palms that can stand as tall as two hundred feet high.
Since we were staying right on the finca we had to do one of the tours. It was super informative and I learned that I knew so little about how coffee is grown.
After two days in Villa de Layva, we took the bus back to Bogota, then a two hour flight to Armenia, followed by another 2 hour bus to the coffee town of Salento.
After our time in Bogota, we took a four hour bus ride north east to the beautiful colonial town of Villa de Leyva.
I had the amazing opportunity to tag along with my sister and her boyfriend, Lindsey and Luke, on a very small portion of their year long trip in South America.
