Everyone has that place. The one where life naturally draws quiet and rhythms reset. This is that place for me and my people. My husband's family owned this cabin in the Black Hills of South Dakota well before we relocated to Denver, but we had really only been here a handful of times and only in the summer. Since moving west, it has become our quiet place as a family. Away from the city, away from friends and surrounded by silence.

Every season here feels incredibly different and the weather changes moment to moment. You can feel it in the shifts of the wind. Winter here is like nowhere else I have ever been and the silence is almost painful. I know there will be a day we will think longingly of this place and these times together.
